Author’s Note:
Before I wrote Love Bitten as a serial, where voters got to decide what happened in the story as we went along, I plotted out an outline of how I thought it would go.
To say the least: The outline version of Love Bitten is waaaay different than the finished product. Admittedly, I loved what the voters have come up with and couldn’t be happier with the final story.
Chapter 1
Erica thinks Max is cheating on her. And she’s on her way to his office building to confirm this. Erica decides to destroy Max’s car, but it turns out to be Julius’s car.
Chapter 2
Julius blows up when he realizes his car has gone up in smoke (literally). But he also realizes that there’s something distinctly different about Erica that he’s attracted to. When she gets away, he mopes. But, we learn there is no time for moping because he and his brother needs to find an investment opportunity to help his kingdom. Evan convinces him to take his mind off of things and they go to the next investment location. A nightclub.
Plot twist: Julius goes to the night club and he finds Erica there.
Chapter 3 & 4-
Julius essentially blackmails Erica into going out with him (painting a commission). She has ten minutes to prove herself and she does her best. She hopes.
Chapter 5 & 6
Me: A few days after, Erica invites him to her art studio after class on a night she doesn’t have to go to school.
Chapter 7
Me: They get to know each other, talk and things start to change. They open up with one other. She mentions the art showcase and how she’s under so much pressure to perform well. Julius feels guilty that he’s been adding to the pressure? (Maybe Max is not the villain we thought he was?)
Chapter 8
After not coming home that night, Evan calls him endlessly reminding him that they have to meet with Max in the morning and he’s late. He scrambles over to Max’s office building that he’s wanting them to invest in. Evan reminds Julius of their goal: Get the money out of the alter realm not to fall in love. Julius is reminded of the stakes. Max is an asshat to his girlfriend. He sends her texts about wanting to explain everything and they read her responses (Julius doesn’t know this is Erica).
Chapter 9
Julius convinces her that one night of fun is exactly what she needs. She convinces him to go on a real date. Marie is singing that night at the pre-opening for her gallery show. She invites Julius as her plus 1 since she and Max are on a break. At the pre-show, Julius does everything right. Erica delivers the commission (paints him- sexy times?).
Chapter 10
On the day of the art show, her art installation is sent to the wrong address and is in ruins. Julius comes to the rescue with an old dusty pick-up truck he clearly doesn’t own to help her deliver her installation to the correct venue and helps her put the pieces back together again
Chapter 11
At the art show, Max showed up to surprise her for her big event and Julius is there. Dun. Dun. Dun!
Chapter 12
Julius drowns his sorrows in a pretty girls at Savu. Evan shows up and tells him that Erica is not really into Max, she just needs someone to show her that she’s worth it. She was planning on breaking it off with him.
Chapter 13
After several missed calls, Julius tracks her down at her job. Evan coaches him through it?
Chapter 14
They have a blow out when Julius tells her that she’s making a big mistake. She calls him out for the “one night of fun” they were supposed to be. Julius tells her that she knows it’s not true. That they’re deeper than that. She’s firm in the fact that nothing else can happen between them. Erica announces that Max has proposed to her again, and wants to marry her.
Chapter 15
Erica goes over to see Max. When she gets there, she sees the white sports SUV. Everyone sees her coming, Max is in a “private meeting”. She barges into his office and there on her knees is the bimbo from the night she wrecked Julius’s car.
Chapter 16
Julius is drinking at her bar (some kind of masochist) and decides that he doesn’t care that he’s going to blow the business deal with Max. He goes over to Erica’s house, then her art studio. She’s throwing things all over the place. And she’s heated that she ever thought about taking him back. Max shows up at her studio. Julius and he have a showdown. Erica finally confronts Max & tells him that it’s over. For good this time and gives her engagement ring back.
Chapter 17 Julius helps her through her hurt, but he must go back home to ask for permission to marry her. He gets it, comes back and he and Erica have a long talk about vampires, his world, and their bond.
